Roman Propyllae

After the Jewish revolt, the sanctuary was provided with a new monumental propylaeum, set back further to the west than the Greek Propylaeum and brought closer to the central area. To a later building intervention, probably dating from the 3rd century AD, belong the fue uprights surmounted by an arch that occupy the doorway and narrow the passage.
