Greek Propylaea

The Greek Propylaea, erected by Apollo's priest Praxiades, connected the difference in height between the two terraces of the sanctuary. The propylaea were erected at the eastern end of the retaining wall of the Terrace of the Fountain. The structure was provided on the northern side with a triple staircase flanked by four fountain mouths fed by the Fountain of Apollo.
