A polychrome mosaic dating from the 3rd century B.C. by Dioscurides of Samos, whose signature is at the top. It is a theatrical scene, showing travelling musicians, as shown by the masks worn by the depicted characters and the setting, which is set against an architectural background. It shows a man with a drum, one with cymbals and a woman and boy playing wind instruments. Remarkable is the colouristic, painterly research, which appears in the iridescent tones of the tunics and cloaks. Dominant colours are pink, green and gold.
