Khaemhat (detail)

Detail of the passage between the Transverse Chamber and the Court, in the inner part of the door. Khaemhat is in standing position and his arms are raised in worshipping attitude. He wears a duplex wig (in which the hair are depicted in two different pattern: straight locks in the upper part, small curls in the lower part, right above the shoulders). Around his neck there are a shebyu collar and a broad pectoral. On his chin a short, squared, false beard is visible. This was worn by courtiers and other important personalities.
