Khaemhat and Teye

One of the statuary groups of the Inner Chamber. The statues of Khaemhat and Teye are sculpted in the limestone in wich the whole tombe is dig. Both are damaged and covered by a black patina (the burial was violated in antiquity and the patina has been caused by the smokes of the hearths related to the use of the tomb as a habitation). About a half of Khaemhat's face is missing, his arms are crossed over his chest and he wears a wig. To the left there is Teye: her face is framed by a broad wig which falls on her shoulders and reach down her bosom; her left arm is bent on her chest, in the typical pose of female charachters' burials. Both are depicted in sitting position and have a mummiform body.
