Painted Tomb of Tigrane: detail of the side niche

Detail of the right side niche with a male figure with nemes kneeling before a female deity and holding a green feather in each hand. The deity is wearing a diadem with ureus. Behind her a pedestal with an oval object. Behind the kneeling figure another one is standing and above it a winged solar disc. The tomb found near Tigrana Pasha Street in Alexandria dates from the Hadrianic period and combines Egyptian and classical elements: the wall paintings show funerary motifs from the Pharaonic period mixed with Greek symbols and rendered in the Alexandrian Hellenistic style.
